Shaved Brussels Sprouts, Artichoke Lemon Ricotta Flatbreads w/ Hot Honey

Try these Shaved Brussels Sprouts, Artichoke Lemon Ricotta Flatbreads with Hot Honey!


Hot honey has been a delicious trend in the culinary world recently, if you've yet to try hot honey, then I think this just might be the recipe for you! You can also try making it with agave if you're vegan and use a vegan ricotta, I hope you all enjoy :)





Shaved Brussels Sprouts, Lemon Ricotta Flatbreads w/ Hot Honey:


Yield: 4 Servings

Cook Time: 40 Min


Ingredients:

- 4 Naan Flatbreads

- 2 Tbsp Olive Oil

- 1 Tbsp Dried Italian Seasonings or

Fresh: Basil|Oregano|Thyme|Marjoram

- ¾ Cup Brussels Sprouts, Shaved

- 1 Artichoke, Cut in Half or ½ Cup Artichoke Hearts

- 3 Tbsp Olive Oil

- 2 tsp Sea Salt

- 1 ½ tsp Black Pepper

- 2 Garlic Cloves, Minced

- 1 Cup Ricotta Cheese or Vegan Alternative

- 1 Lemon, Fresh

- 1/3 Cup Hot Honey or Agave:

1/3 Cup Honey or Agave + ½ tsp Dried Red Pepper Flakes

- Optional: ½ Cup Shredded Parmesan Cheese Garnish


Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 400° F. Wash and dry brussels sprouts, artichoke, and lemon.

2. Cut artichoke in half. Boil artichoke in large pot with water and covered with a lid for 30 minutes or until the bottom of the stalk is soft enough to be pierced with a fork. Drain water and remove the heart from the artichoke, chop into small pieces and let cool.

3. Shave brussels sprouts by removing the ends off, then thinly slice the sprouts.

4. Take 2 Tbsp olive oil and add 1 Tbsp Italian seasonings together in a small bowl. Using a pastry brush, brush the naan flatbreads with the seasoned olive oil.

5. Next, spread ricotta cheese over the flatbreads with a spoon. Cut the lemon in half and sprinkle lemon juice over each flatbread.

6. Sprinkle the artichoke heart, brussels sprouts shavings, 3 Tbsp olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, and minced garlic over the naan breads. Add shredded parmesan cheese if you’d like.

7. Bake naan breads on sheet trays lined with parchment paper for 5-7 minutes or until the artichokes start to bubble with the cheese, then remove from oven.

8. While flatbreads are baking, warm honey in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the red chili pepper flakes and stir- warm until the honey begins to bubble. Remove from heat.

9. Drizzle the hot honey over the naan flatbreads when the cheese is bubbling and slice naan into bite-sized pieces, enjoy! :)


Tips/Tricks:

- You can also purchase hot honey from amazon- link listed on website above.

- Any kind of flatbread would work for this recipe, you could even use pizza dough!
